Every time I watch another Tom Baker Doctor Who episode, I am more pleased by our casting for Dworkin.

Its a casting choice that I thought "Wha?" when I first saw it. However...it might actually work.

Have you ever seen the partial recreation of Shada that Baker narrated? The "old and crazy like a fox" vibe that he gives off as the narrator when he breaks the fourth wall at the end of the program definitely would fit in with the Dworkin casting.

I haven't seen that but my two touchstones for crazy scary Dworkin are the Sinbad movie he played in and his turn as Sherlock Holmes.

His turn at Sherlock Holmes seemed to be the Doctor with a deerstalker to me. Not bad but not exciting. I still need to see the Sinbad one though. My library has it and soon so will I.

He was in no wise kindly, though. The Doctor has that in his range and Holmes really didn't. It was the coldness, at least compared to the Doctor, that impressed me. Yeah, I know, he's not Jeremy Brett, but still.

I also saw it at a formative age (watched the original production when it was first aired on UK TV--because it was the real Doctor, not this Peter Davison guy!), which influenced my take on it, I'm sure.

It was that casting that made House of Cards a game I wanted to play in. It was inspired choice I never would have thought of myself.

I've never seen another choice I like. I know there are some problems with it (like Baker's height) but I attribute inaccurate details to the talking bearness/bad memories of Corwin and the fact that Dworkin is a shapeshifter.

I tend to have "the old guy from scene 24" from Monty Python's Holy Grail in my head for a physical casting.
